Brent appoints interim CEO

Brent Council has appointed Christine Gilbert CBE as its interim Chief Executive.

Christine is a former Chief Inspector at Ofsted and has also served as Chief Executive at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. She will start at Brent in early November and remain in post until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of the Council said: “I am delighted that Christine has agreed to accept the post. She has a wealth of local government experience at the most senior level and will provide inspirational leadership to the council in the months ahead.”

Former Chief Executive Gareth Daniel left his post after a reported disagreement with the Leader.
