The £65m residential-led project will fill the site adjacent to Queen’s Park station. 28 of the 144 new homes will be affordable units, and there will be 480sqm of commercial floorspace. Housing association L&Q will acquire the affordable units.
Construction is targeted to commence in early 2014 and be completed by November 2016.
Brent Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Major Projects Cllr George Crane said: “This new development will be a real asset to the regeneration of South Kilburn. Our aim is to develop housing of a high standard, in great neighbourhoods, to suit most budgets. This scheme, thanks to the support of our partners, is an example of how we are making that possible.”
Nicolas Guérin, Managing Director of Bouygues Development said: “Our focus has been to provide a high quality development, and deliver a scheme which enhances the area and supports the environment where people will want to live.”
Robert Soning, Chief Operating Officer of Londonewcastle commented: “We believe this will offer a step change in the quality and sophistication of homes offered in the buoyant Queen’s Park area.”
