Foreign Secretary and Uxbridge MP Boris Johnson will not be on the committee that decides whether Heathrow can expand, according to reports.
The Times reports that neither he nor Justine Greening, another cabinet member opposed to Heathrow, will take part in the committee set to decide whether to back the recommendation by Sir Howard Davies and his Aiports Commission to expand Heathrow.
Instead, Sajid Javid and Sir Partick McLaughlin are to keep their place on the group which will decide where to put a runway. That decision is said to be imminent – with October as the likely timing. For the sake of the UK and West London economy it cannot come soon enough.
