The Mayor of London has agreed to allow Ealing Council’s grant of planning permission to The Oaks in Acton to stand.
There had been some local opposition, but the economic benefits of the scheme, and the new homes it will provide weighed in its favour.
The detailed plans, for a partial refurbishment, demolition and redevelopment of the centre, will provide 146 new homes as well as new and refurbished commercial units in a scheme which rises to eleven storeys.
The development, designed by Stock Woolstencroft, has been designed to achieve a Very Good BREEAM rating, and to meet with Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
