Plans for Bedfont Pits, a derelict industrial site, are reported on hold.
The site, part of the Bedfont Trading Estate, is notorious in the local community for illegal motcross racing and general anti-social behaiour. Plans approved by LB Hounslow would convert part of the area into a new public space. However, Councillors are acknowledging the scheme may be delayed for economic reasons.
Bedfont Councillor Peter Hills told the Hounslow Guardian “We are having a downturn in trading at the moment and I think the developer may find it very difficult to proceed with the scheme and will probably have to postpone it until the trading prospects look up.”
Owner Chrisfys Properties is said to be looking at ways of minimising delays.
