Beacon of Hendon to rise

hendA new landmark could pierce the skies over Hendon, as plans emerge for the Battle of Britain Museum.

The Fielden Cleg Bradley plans for the Museum involve a 116m tall tower containing a ‘scramble’ lift and suspended World War II planes were announced this week. The Museum will be on Grahame Park Way, just inside LB Barnet, but will, the project’s backers hope, become an iconic NW London landmark, and a ‘Gateway to London’.

No planning application has been submitted yet, the museum trust are raising funds to complete the project.
