Barratt recently resubmitted plans for the Featherstone Primary School site, which is linked to their Salisbury Depot scheme.
The two schemes, although separate planning applications, are intrinsically linked, and aim to provides both private and affordable housing on the two brownfield sites in Southall.
The Featherstone element of the scheme is designed around the locally listed former primary school building with 146 private units, the apartments on the old Featherstone School site will provide both private gardens and a central landscaped courtyard. The development will be called The Primary in memory of the school and will retain key features of the listed school building.
The former Salisbury Depot site redevelopment aims to regenerate a dilapidated, vacant site and would provide 103 affordable homes. on both developments. The scheme also provides for improved access to the Grand Union canal and a new canal-side open space to the south of the site.
