Barratt ‘Prison’ approved in Hayes

Barratt's plans for Hayes Football Club have been approved, but have attracted criticism over their design.

LB Hillingdon approved the plans for 261 homes on the Judge Heath Lane site, but some Councilloirs went on record with the Uxbridge Gazette about their design concerns. Councillor Mo Kursheed, who represents Hayes, said: "It looks like a prison".

Barratt have provided a continuing sporting facility on the site – a condition of planning approval. The boxing club opened last week. They are also providing a significant amount of children's play area, and over £600,000 of section 106 money for school places and other social infrastructure.
