Barratt Homes have acquired part of the Bentley Priory site, which now has planning permission.
Barratt have acquired, from Vinci St Modwen (VSM Estates) the 103 home scheme which involves the demolition of the former WWII bunker on the site. The deal also provides finance for a Batle of Britain Museum in the mansion house on the Bentley Priory estate – £200,000 set up costs, £6.2m for conversion to a museum, and £2.6m to be held in trust to help pay running costs.
Separately, historic buildings specialist City & Country will redevelop the mansion house, creating the Museum and eight flats.
Planning permission for the scheme was awarded earlier this week.
