Barnet reveals Old Barn plans

Early plans for a replacement community centre for Muswell Hill – the former building was destroyed by fire – have been unveiled.

The pre-planning proposals would provide a new building next door to the Old Barn Community Centre in East Finchley.

The previous community centre used by the Somali Bravanese Welfare Association in Muswell Hill was destroyed in an arson attack in June 2013.

The proposals, if approved, would see the re provided community centre built as an extension to the Old Barn Community Centre in Tarling Road, East Finchley. The land adjacent would be incorporated to form a larger public open  space for the whole community.

Plans are expected to be submitted in Spring 2015, with the new building completed the following year.
