Barnet looks for waste sites

The London Borough of Barnet, along with others across North London, has issued a call for sites suitable for use as waste facilities.

The call is part of the process of preparing the North London Waste Plan (NLWP) which will set out the planning framework for waste management in Barnet,  Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest for the next 15 years.

The Boroughs are issuing a call for sites, inviting landowners, agents, waste companies and other parties to nominate sites within these Boroughs for possible future waste management use. There will be a public consultation on the draft NLWP early in 2015, and the document will contain maps and information about sites being considered so that people will have the opportunity to comment on them.

The sites or areas suggested can be either locations currently used for waste management purposes that may be suitable for future expansion, or they may be sites or areas with a potential for waste management use in the future.

For further information, or if you would like a nomination form to propose a site, please visit the website, contact Urban Vision Partnership or call 0161 779 6183.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 4th July 2014.
