Proposals for free weekend parking at all of the borough’s town centres and council run car-parks during the three weekends leading up to Christmas will be discussed at the Environment Committee.
The proposals, which require the approval of the Committee, mirror the arrangements that the council made during the same period last year, and aim to boost trade for local shops.
The proposals are for residents to be able to park free of charge on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21st December.
Councillor Dean Cohen, Chairman of Barnet Council’s Environment Committee said: “The feedback from last year’s free parking campaign was very positive indeed – this is why I am proposing that we do the same again for this holiday period.
“I look forward to discussing these plans with the committee.”
