Barnet Council has agreed to grant a four year lease to Middlesex University for the former Church Farmhouse Museum.
The new partnership will see Middlesex University take over the property on a short lease and keep the listed building and gardens available to the wider community. The Council says it will make a saving on its annual budget of over £100,000 as a result.
Councillor Daniel Thomas, Chair of the Cabinet Resource Committee, said: “I see this arrangement with Middlesex University as similar to the one the Council entered with Saracens. We have found a partner who is willing to take over an expensive to maintain property and put it to very good use, keeping it available for community use. At the same time, the Council will make an on-going saving in our annual budget.”
