Barnet consult on North Finchley

Barnet Council are consulting on a planned £1.4million revamp of North Finchley as part of the Mayor or London’s Outer London Fund Initiative.

The proposals include the creation of a ‘Cultural Quarter’ at the southern end of the town centre to compliment the artsdepot, and improvements to street furniture, the planting of trees and greenery and better signposting to attractions such as the Friday market.

The funding comprises just over £1m from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund and just under £400,000 of additional funding from Barnet Council.

Councillor David Longstaff, Cabinet Member for Safety and Resident Engagement and North Finchley OLF Member Champion, said: “This is a tremendous opportunity to give the North Finchley area a boost.

“We are keen to hear people’s views on the proposals and I would encourage people to come along to the exhibition and get involved in the consultation.”
