BA requests Sipson moratorium

British Airways has requested that LB Hillingdon’s planning department not approve anything which would “jeopardise future development of a third runway”.

The Uxbridge Gazette reports the request was made when BA were consulted over the Local Development Framework, which will be discussed and agreed by councillors at a public meeting this week.

BA asked that only Hotels, which they said would provide supporting infrastructure for an expanded Heathrow, should be allowed in the village. The request demonstrates a continuing interest in the third runway project, despite the Government’s cancellation of the plans approved by the previous adinistration last year.
