Asendia expand at Heathrow

SEGRO Heathrow EstateAsendia Holding has taken an additional two units at SEGRO’s The Heathrow Estate, and will now occupy four adjacent units, totalling around 70,000 sq ft.

Asendia is a joint venture, formed in July 2012, between Swiss Post and French operator La Poste.  Swiss Post previously occupied two of these four units, totalling 42,000 sq ft, and now a further 28,000 sq ft has been leased.  The expansion at Heathrow is part of Asendia’s strategy to develop and grow its cross-border mail business.

Alan Holland, SEGRO’s Business Unit Director for Greater London, commented: “This latest deal with Asendia, an existing customer, is a great example of the growing trend we are seeing from postal courier companies requiring buildings of approximately 50,000 to 70,000 sq ft.  Asendia needs to be close to the airport, as well as having easy access to Central London, so The Heathrow Estate is an ideal location for them.  We are delighted to be supporting their growth plans and we look forward to continuing our strong working relationship.”

Paul Taylor, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Asendia UK, said: “We are delighted to be expanding at The Heathrow Estate. Our new working space, and the excellent location, means that we can deliver an even higher quality of services to our global customer base, setting the standard for international mail solutions.”
