Asda submits Hayes plans

ASDA have submitted plans for a new store in Hayes on the Westlands 3 site.

The plans were submitted by the British Steel Pension Fund (BSPF), the owners of the site in North Hyde Road, and involve building an 8000 sqm store. Public consultation has opened. The plans also involve a petrol station, a 420-space car park, and industrial units.

There is a strong emphasis in the plans on links with the town centre. Most of the grocery multiples in the Hayes area are considered “out of town”, involving, as they do, a trip in a car along the bypass. A “main entrance” at the Station Road/North Hyde Road corner is one of the amendments made in the plans submitted from those trailed earlier in the year, along with improvements to the walking route from Hayes town centre.
