Plans to redevelop the Abbey Manufacturing Estate in Alperton have been refused.
The plans, by Broadway Malyan for ZED Homes, involved the demolition of the industrial estate at Edwards Yard, Mount Pleasant, and their replacement with a mixed use development of buildings ranging between three and 14 storeys containing 581 homes. Officers had recommended approval.
The plans are subject to call-in by the Mayor of London, who may direct approval.
Councillors voiced concerns about the level of affordable homes – 75 of them are in that category – and the lack of support for infrastructure in the area.
