A2Dominion have gone to tender on their 394 home scheme on Edgware Road.
The Cricklewood Gate plans, designed by Carey Jones, and on the LB Barnet side of Edgware Road, are for the former Parcelforce depot at 2 Geron Way, just South of Staples Corner. It involves the demolition of the existing buildings, and their replacement with a residential led mixed use development, providing 394 new homes within six blocks, ranging from 5 storeys on Edgware Road to 15 storeys above podium within the central courtyard, with commercial uses at ground floor level along Edgware Road including retail, restaurant, pub, office and a health centre.
The scheme has been designed to achieve an EcoHomes rating of Excellent – considering ways to maximise energy and water efficiency, material and waste recycling and the reduction in the amount of pollution each home produces. Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is one of the technologies included to reduce carbon emissions, leading to a 16% reduction in CO2 emissions at Cricklewood Gate.
The development still awaits planning approval.
