Harrow Civic plans get Mayoral nod

Plans for the new Harrow Civic Centre have been given the nod by Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

A team led by Gort Scott Architects and also including Allies & Morrison and We Made That have designed plans for the new 9,362 sq m building of up to six storeys with council offices, a civic centre and community space on the site of Peel House Car park in Wealdstone.

The new Civic Centre is the centrepiece of the council’s regeneration strategy for Wealdstone, and enables the redevelopment of the current Civic Centre site on Station Road.

The plans were approved by Harrow Council in March 2018, but subject to call in. Now the Mayor of London has said he is content to allow Harrow Council to determine the plans themselves.

It is hoped the new Civic Centre will be open in 2020.
