Brent Council are consulting on their plans for London Borough of Culture 2020.
The council is holding a series of drop-in events at libraries across Brent.
Brent was awarded the title of London Borough of Culture 2020 by the Mayor of London earlier this year and will receive £1.35m of funding to stage a year long programme of cultural events and activities, putting culture at the heart of the borough’s future.
The drop in sessions throughout April and May are to help local people and businesses find out more about London Borough of Culture and help shape Brent’s year in the spotlight.
Carolyn Downs, Brent Council’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re so excited to be London Borough of Culture and would like to see as many Brent residents as possible involved in shaping the vision for 2020. We’d love to hear ideas and suggestions of what people want to see happening, how they can help us make it a fantastic year of creativity in the borough and how we can create a lasting legacy beyond 2020. We’re also keen to find out about any hidden cultural gems within the borough that we might not be aware of.
“We’ll be sharing more details about what went into the bid and what we want to deliver through the programme, and we’ll be discussing some of the ways that people can be involved.”
