SEGRO boosts Hounslow Job Club

southville chequeThe Southville Community Centre in Bedfont is to help the London Borough of Hounslow’s long term unemployed after a cash injection of £5,000 from SEGRO.

The money will enable the centre to run a Job Club each week, as well as sessions for in-depth employment help for the long term unemployed and parents returning to work.   In addition to the funding, members of staff from SEGRO will work in partnership with the centre to get the project up and running. They will assist with mentoring people and carry out mock interviews and provide feedback for students.

Cllr Ruth Cadbury, deputy leader of Hounslow Council said: “This is the continuation of our pledge to create new partnerships with local businesses to work with the council to deliver better services.

“In December 2010 we launched the Hounslow Economic Business Forum, which works with the large organisations in the borough to address a variety of business issues. SEGRO is an active member of the forum, and this donation will help those residents who are long-term unemployed to get back into work.”
