Dollis Hill House plans revealed

dollis hill house plansDesigns for a lasting legacy of Dollis Hill House have been released by Brent Council.

Approved by English Heritage, the legacy project plans include a new memorial as well as a community open air performance space with lighting, power supply and historical backdrop of an original brick work window from Dollis Hill House.

The inclusion of seating and additional greenery will ensure visitors can relax and unwind as they soak up the atmosphere.  The venue is scheduled to open in spring 2012.

Since its closure in 1994, the council has looked at a number of options for Dollis Hill House.  But after four arson attacks the house lost its roof, most of the internal features of the first floor, and the staircase, and the costs of restoration became too high. Since the structure is now dangerous, the council applied for a demolition order.

The demolition is expected to take place in December and January
